Fuse 2012

Thank you to everyone who came to Fuse 2012!

Fuse is a networking event that brings BCIT students together with BCIT alumni and industry professionals to expand their “net worth”. This was the third consecutive year for Fuse, which was started by our SIFE team members.

Fuse consists of a guest speaker, silent auction, delicious food and an amazing opportunity to network with future business associates.

This year, we were proud to have Iain Black, CEO of the Vancouver Board of Trade as our keynote speaker.

Iain Black was appointed the President and CEO of the Vancouver Board of Trade in October 2011 with a mandate of leading the iconic business organization into its second 125 years of history, and indoing so evolving it to fully reflect the needs of 21st century businesses in British Columbia.   Groomed initially in the technology and new economy sectors, his leadership skills and experience have been additionally enhanced by fulfilling a lifelong passion for public service, serving six years as an MLA and cabinet minister in the Government of British Columbia.  His three different cabinet portfolios encompassed responsibility for BC’s small businesses, economic development, labour and the Asia Pacific Initiative, as well as leading the international business hosting program for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Fuse aims to reconnect accomplished BCIT Alumni with the best and brightest business students, as well as provide successful industry professionals with the opportunity to recruit new employees and source new contacts.
